Wolverhampton City Centre has over a hundred empty or underused sites including shops, office units and public areas.

The [Spaces] In-between is the culmination of a residency programme developed by Wolverhampton’s independent art gallery and studios The Asylum Art Gallery Ltd to discuss these underused spaces and their impact on communities. The final group show at Wolverhampton Art Gallery presents new works by four of the residency artists and pieces by six other contemporary artists interested in the socio-political and environmental landscape of the region.
