Roger Fry, Self-portrait, 1928. The Samuel Courtauld Trust, The Courtauld Gallery, London.
Visitors to the Wolverhampton Society of Artists Centenary Exhibition can also enjoy a display of three prestigious early 20th century British paintings on loan from the Courtauld Gallery, London. This is part of an ongoing collaboration which celebrates the links between Wolverhampton and the Courtauld Collection through the Courtaulds textile company.
Collecting Courtauld Memories
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in researching and recording oral histories about The Courtaulds Factory in Wolverhampton (1927 – 1970). Volunteers will record oral histories and collect photos or documents to create an exhibition at the City of Wolverhampton Archives in 2020, telling the stories of people who worked at the factory.
Volunteers will receive ‘An Introduction to Oral History’ training and learn digital skills. Volunteer recruitment will be taking place throughout October.
For more information or to express an interest email [email protected].
