Friends of Bantock House Museum and Park

The Friends is a registered charity which raises funds to support the City of Wolverhampton Council in developing the Bantock House Museum and Park’s full potential and plays a vital role in promoting and preserving this place of local heritage for the local community and visitors from further afield. Periodic newsletters are sent out to members to inform them of the group’s activities and plans.

Funds raised through subscription fees, quarterly valuation days and a presence at other organised events, have enabled purchases to be made to enhance the experience of visiting the museum and park. Over the years these have included period fixtures and furnishings for Bantock House and more recently we have been able to fund the replanting of six beds within the Rose Garden and purchase extra benches positioned alongside the perimeter path. We have also covered the cost of two picnic tables to be sited with two that the Council are funding to replace the dilapidated existing ones. All four will be in put in place as soon as social restrictions are eased.

Annual membership subscription fees are £10 for a single person and £15 for a household  For details of becoming a member, email: [email protected]  or telephone Secretary FoB: 01902 331272

An offshoot of The Friends is the Bantock User Group (BUG) which is a small group of volunteers who help to take care of the park. In addition to routine gardening and litter-picks, from time to time extra projects are undertaken such as planting in the Rose and Dutch Gardens, and the planting of hedgerows and trees.

They meet once a month for gardening on Thursday mornings and once a month on Saturday mornings for litter picks. If you would like to know more about volunteering with them, please call Val: 01902 342715 or Roger: 01902 341930
