India Rocks… – Alchemy Black Country

Posted May 20, 2017 5:15 pm by Wolves Civic under event Special Events

Join us for the official launch of Alchemy Black Country for an evening of art, culture, food and music.

20 May 2017 5:15 pm - 8:45 pm

The programme includes: India Rocks… a contemporary portrait of India, and British Asians and their tenuous marmite relationship with India. Join a discussion with three panellists to discuss all things Indian from a uniquely British Asian perspective hosted by BBC journalist Ruchi Tandon.

Followed by excusive music from DJ Swami and Punjabtronix – where folk meets electronica. You can also see the Black Country through an Indian lens with a pop up photo studio. Collaboration produced by Creative Black Country, Multistory, Delhi Photo Festival, Asian Arts Agency. Supported by British Council.

Other work includes: Mersey Miniatures Series by The Singh Twins; and a brand new short about India by Fettle Animation.

Alchemy Black Country is a touring project in partnership with: Black Country Touring, Cast Doncaster, Oldham Coliseum Theatre and Southbank Centre.

Black Country Touring and Creative Black Country are working together to present a range of work in various partner venues.

Free admission. Please obtain a ticket through Eventbrite.

‘Supported using public funding by Arts Council England’.
