Children’s Photography Competition: Ways of Looking at your City
Deadline extended!

We invite your entries for our photography competition on the theme of ‘ways of looking at your city’.

We would like you to use your digital camera or your mobile phone to capture an aspect or aspects of Wolverhampton that you think are special, unique or important to you. Entries will be displayed in the Gallery and judged by an expert panel.

There are two age categories, 5-7 and 8-12 and winner will be selected from each age group to win a fabulous photography-related prize! The deadline for entries is Friday 7 February at 5pm and the prizes for each age group will be announced at our Indian Family Day on Wednesday 19 February.

To enter, all you have to do is submit your photograph printed out on A4 paper along with a completed entry form – it doesn’t have to be fancy or glossy, it’s the image that counts! Please hand in your entry to reception in an envelope marked for the attention of Joanne Thomson, Learning Team, or send by post to:

This event forms part of a series celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Wolverhampton Photographic Society. Their exhibition From Darkroom to Digital traces the rich and influential history of photography in Wolverhampton from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day.

Call for Exhibitors: A Glass Act: Contemporary glassware for the table

This exhibition will investigate what the practical and aesthetic qualities of glass are that make it desirable in our kitchens and on our tables today. The exhibition will celebrate the diversity and relevance of contemporary glass tableware, featuring numerous functional objects for domestic use from the everyday glass tumbler through to intricate candelabras and everything in between.

Bilston Craft Gallery are inviting applications to exhibit in this show which will be on display in the main gallery in Summer 2014.
